Waterproofing Basements
There is a growing trend of homeowners utilising existing damp cellars and converting them into bright habitable living areas. At Iceberg developments we understand each basement provides its own set of challenges. Our management team have decades of experience in design, construction and development of basements
Types of Waterproofing Systems
There are several different types of basement waterproofing options and the right one for your project will vary. The most commonly used is referred to as Type C – Drained Protection. This involves the installation of a ‘water management’ system that uses a system of wall membrane, drainage and sump pumps to collect and remove water from your basement. This system guarantees basements remain dry, without any risks of cracks and leaks from external water pressure
Type C waterproofing is defined by the British Standards Institute (BSI) code of practice BS8102:2009.
